Cruises to Mexico

Welcome to the Cruising to Mexico website Cruise Ship in Puerto Vallarta. Over the years we have taken numerous cruises to Mexico, mainly to Cabo San Lucas, Matzalan, and Puerto Vallarta also known as the "Mexican Riveria". There were a couple of years when the instability of Matzalan forced most ships to bypass the city and travel to Ensenada instead. Many of the cruises are 7 day trips, but smaller 3-5 day trips are available, some going to Ensenada and Catalina Island or straight to Cabo San Lucas and back. While many cruiselines offer trips to Mexico, all of the images, activities, and information here are from our own experiences with Carnival, Princess, and Royal Caribbean cruise lines (click here for a full list of cruises to Mexico).

Western Mexico's scenic coastline that extends around the Baja Peninsula consists of three states and a cluster of small islands. located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, Cabo San Lucas is popular for its resorts, sports fishing, shopping and night life. Mazatlán is a Mexican resort town along the Pacific shoreline in the state of Sinaloa. Best known for the "Golden Zone (high-end jewelry and shopping)", Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and local cliff divers. Further south is Puerto Vallarta which is the most tropical. The southern shoreline offers great snorkeling, horseback riding, hiking and boat tours across the Bay of Banderas to dense forests and small villages. Ensenada is a tourist town located in Baja California about 2 hours south of San Diego. Best known for its bars, inexpensive shopping and La Bufadora ( a natural blowhole located south of the city). While Catalina Island is not a mexican destination, it is a port of call for many mexican cruises and offers plenty of activities.

The main goal of this website is to share our images and experiences cruising to mexico. While we have done many of the activities offered by the cruise lines , our lists of "things to do" is far from complete. Activities like sport fishing, off roading, golfing, zip lining and other activities are widely available, we just haven't done them.

To navigate the website click on destination images or menu links for each destination. Activities pages can be accessed by clicking on "things to do" images located at the right of the destination pages. The slide shows may take amoment to load and require java script to be running.
