Todos Santos / Hotel California
Todos Santos is located on the Pacific coast of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, north of Cabo San Lucas in the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range. Popular with artists, it's known for its many galleries. The modern Professor Néstor Agúndez Martínez Cultural Center is housed in a former school and includes a local history museum.
The coast is known for it's pounding surf and attracts many surfers. The beautiful town is filled with old colonial buildings, church, shops, and the Hotel California. the hotel does not have any reference to the popular Eagles song (although they lie to hint at it in their ads), but is a beautiful resort with good food and a wonderful gift shop.
The tour starts at th
e Cabo Marina with a 1 hour bus ride up the north coast. The driver highlights the landmarks and local history along the way. The first stop is to the Professor Néstor Agúndez Martínez Cultural Center. Next is a guided walk through the town and the local church with plenty of good photo opportunities. Our hike ends at the Hotel California. We are greeted and seated for a nice lunch. After exploring the hotel grounds we stopped at the gift shop which offers higher quality artwork and souvenirs you won;t find at the usual shops in Mexico(and more expensive).
