Downtown Puerto Vallarta
If you are not into the boat excursions, snorkeling and horseback riding, or prefer a nice quiet and beautiful setting, you can spend the day in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Highlights of Puerto Vallarta include: The Malecon, Our lady of Guadalupe Parish, and the town's square . Eat at one of the many fine dining etablishments, including the Hard Rock Cafe. Take a nice walk on the Malecon ( boardwalk) which follows the shore. Many of PV's many fine resorts ar located along the shoreline. Close by is the Beautiful Our lady of Guadalupe Parish and plenty of souvenir shops.
You can book a number of city and cultural tours through the cruise line that will feature or include a stop at downtown Puerto Vallarta. The taxis / vans at port will be happy to take you or your group down to the city and back. Some will even extend the ride to explore surrounding areas of the city.
